Basketball Career: Doug Anderson started playing basketball late (in 8th grade) but worked hard to earn his spot as a freshman on Varsity at Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, MI. With two years in Junior college at Mott Community College I was ranked in The Top 20 nationally ranked players in 2009-2011, before transferring to the University of Detroit Mercy. Where we won the Horizon League Conference Tournament, giving us the 15th seed to play against #2 Kansas in the NCAA Tournament (2011-12). Senior year, (2012-13) I won the NCAA College Slam Dunk Contest. Finishing my senior year with 7 NBA pre draft workouts and training camp with the New York Knicks. 2 quick years played overseas (China/Australia). 3 time 3x3 International Dunk Champion. Recently retired Player from Harlem Globetrotters (6 years)
I started coaching because over the years I’ve learned so much from different coaches, helping me become a better player and fulfilling my dream to play professionally, so I would like to pass it down to help other kids pursue their dreams and become better athletes on the court and better people off the court as well.
